Mosquito Bites
It has been discovered that certain colors irritate some insects, or else invite them to park on your clothing. Another factor is how you smell.
Certain odors may draw insects to you
—or repel them! When people are under stress, certain chemical odors are exhaled from the lungs and also emanate from the skin. Some have noticed that being clean and relaxed will frequently help keep peace with the insect kingdom.

There are certain people, however, who give off more heat or exhale more carbon dioxide than others. Unfortunately, this factor also draws mosquitoes.

But if you want to smell a little better than that try rubbing tea tree oil, especially on exposed areas (but not near the eyes).

For mosquito bites, you can apply a little vinegar every few minutes or Tei-Fu oil.
It is s also nice to know that B vitamins also help to repel insects like fleas, and ticks. Remember that capsicum when taken internally, will help repel these insects and chiggers, too.




Rather than mention all the possible remedies for bites and stings, there are some general remedies that you should consider for your first aid kit:
Activated charcoal is a general detoxifier and is also good for wounds and infections.
Applied to a bite, it is capable of adsorbing large amounts of the offending poison if it can get to it.
Liquefying it, even with saliva, can be soothing.

We have already mentioned garlic oil. This even helps soothe the bite of the fire ants. Bee stings are helped with charcoal or even a slice of fresh onion.
Also, don't underestimate the power of black walnut extract and lobelia essence. Lobelia has even been used for scorpion bites along with large doses of vitamin C. However seek a professional when it is called for.

Bee stings
Bee stings can be a problem because some people are very allergic to them. The adrenal glands are important here, and normally are able to produce anti-inflammatory compounds to help neutralize the sting's poison. Assuming a person is not seriously allergic, aloe vera juice is soothing (and helps for poison ivy too). Use vitamin E by rubbing it on the sting after the stinger is scraped free.
Plantain, yarrow, comfrey, black cohosh, red raspberry, lobelia and bayberry have been used for taking the "sting" out of the sting.

Black Widow bites
Black widow bites are always frightening, especially since the bite is small and the effects delayed somewhat. Large amounts of both vitamin A & D and Vitamin C can do a lot to help this situation.
Garlic and black cohosh have also proved valuable in these cases. This applies to Brown Recluse spider bites also.
Symptoms can also be reduced by cold packs. Here again, seek professional help when the situation warrants it.

When a virus hits you

More About Garlic

In modern scientific studies, garlic is proving its historical reputation. Research has demonstrated that garlic is effective against bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
